About our Students
Student success is central to all planning. At NPCC School student success is defined as reaching the highest level of independence, academic achievement, and participation possible for each child.
All program planning and decision making is based upon the principles of family centred care.
Students at NPCC School are provided with developmentally appropriate educational opportunities rooted in the Ontario Curriculum.
About our Staff
All students receive a program where education and therapy are woven together through multi-disciplinary team planning.
Staff has expertise in providing individualized education programming for students with physical and/or communication disabilities.
Transition planning begins the moment a child is accepted into a program at NPCC School.
About our Community Partnering
Staff are committed to sharing knowledge and expertise with the staff of the local DSBs and community agencies in meeting the needs of children with complex communication and/or physical disabilities.
We are committed to optimizing family and school participation in the planning of successful transitions into and out of NPCC School.
Students leave NPCC School with a high quality IEP and Transition Portfolio that :
Provides a clear picture of student strengths and needs;
identifies student baseline of achievement through evidence based assessments;
outlines strategies, accommodations, modifications and program directions that work in any classroom;
provides current assessment information relevant to program planning;
provides the details of Augmentative and Alternative Communication Equipment, including goals, strategies, examples for use and how to use it; and,
provides details of Assistive Technology and how to use it.
