Standard Radio Niagara Wins Ontario Association of Broadcasters “Community Service Award” for its annual “Have A Heart - Niagara Kids Radiothon”

Standard Radio Niagara stations, Newstalk 610 CKTB, 105.7 EZ Rock and 97.7 HTZ-FM are proud to be recognized by the Ontario Association of Broadcasters as the stations won a “Community Service” award for the annual “Have A Heart - Niagara Kids Radiothon”.

The award was announced at an OAB luncheon in Toronto on Tuesday October 3 rd and recognizes a radio station that has made the greatest contribution to its community in the calendar year.

The third annual Have A Heart - Niagara Kids Radiothon raised $145,000.00 dollars for the Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre. The three radio stations broadcast live from the Pen Centre showcasing the needs of local kids while encouraging donations.

General Manager Madelyn Hamilton says the award reflects the values of Standard Radio and the importance of community. During the past five years, the stations with its listeners have raised more than a million dollars through events such as the Radiothon.

The Ontario Association of Broadcasters represents all Ontario private broadcasters.

610 CKTB, 105.7 EZ Rock and 97.7 HTZ-FM are owned by Standard Radio, Canada 's largest privately owned multi-media Company.

The 2007 “Have A Hart- Niagara Kids Radiothon will take place at the Pen Centre on Wednesday March 28, Thursday March 29 and Friday March 30.
